Compliance

Tools your financial agent will actually like.

Canadian elections law puts compliance responsibility on the campaign. Our job is to make that job easy — by enforcing the rules you configure at the moment of donation, and keeping records the way an agent needs them.

At the moment of donation

Contribution caps, enforced per charge

Each page carries its jurisdictions (federal, Saskatchewan provincial — more as clients need them). Every donation is checked against the donor's running annual total before the charge happens, and monthly commitments are projected a full twelve months forward so a $200/month pledge can't quietly blow through an annual limit.

Eligibility attestation, captured

Donors attest to citizenship/permanent residency and that funds are their own — with the attestation stored on the donation record, exactly as it was presented and accepted.

Corporate donations, per jurisdiction

Federal pages refuse corporate donations outright; jurisdictions that allow them collect the corporation's details instead of individual attestation. It's a per-page switch, defaulted to the strict setting.

Employer and occupation, when required

Field requirements are configurable per page, so you collect what your jurisdiction requires — and nothing extra when it doesn't.

The records

Snapshotted, not reconstructed

Every donation stores a contribution-time snapshot of the donor’s details — name, address, employer, attestation — as they were the moment the gift was made. If the donor moves next year, your records for this year’s filing don’t silently change underneath you. Refunds and disputes link back to the original record, and upsell and monthly charges run through the same guard and snapshot pipeline as the donate form.

Exports built for the return

Filter to any period or page and download the complete record set — attested name, addresses, employer, occupation, donor type — in the shape a filing actually needs.

Data stays in Canada

Donation and donor records are stored on infrastructure located in Canada. Payment card details never touch our servers at all — they go directly to the payment processor.

The fine print, up front

testerdonate provides tooling, not legal advice — and deliberately never inserts its own legal language between your campaign and your donors. Contribution rules text, disclaimers, and receipt wording are all authored by your campaign in the editor, because your financial agent — not a software vendor — is who the law holds responsible. Tax receipts — where donations qualify for them — remain issued by your campaign’s own agent; our donor receipts are contribution confirmations. If that division of responsibility sounds right to you, your agent will like it here.

Make your financial agent happy.

Bring them to the call. The fastest onboardings are the ones where the agent asked the hard questions first — and this is the page written to answer them.
